Mmm... what to say here... well, I've always liked shiny things and bacon and I like the phrases 'Pardon our mess. We are working to improve' and 'Free shipping'. Convertible anything, too. Fisker Karma S convertible omg rockin'
I like my Macbook, dog, spellcheck and niece and nephews a lot, too. I like cooking and having friends around, traveling - wanna take a trip to India and Sri Lanka with the hope to see a color that I have never seen before. Rio Carnival, Machu Picchu, Galapagos.... Like shopping in general, fix-it, remodel, and projects in and outside the house.
Am kind of a gear head at work but also at home; like cars - have a Mustang convertible with Flowmaster and racing air filter; the wand of power. Would love to get the new 2010 model but will probably get something German this next go around, something highly likely to be very impractical :)
Oh, I really like how my dog cries for my yogurt cup while I eat it - funny. Parents had 3 kids; 1 of each :)
Music I Like:
The Presets and am on a major Tool kick now. Too's Lateralus CD's been the only one in the car for over a year now :) Don't know how I missed them - like how they unify musical experimentation, visual arts and a message of personal evolution.
Honestly, I like all kinds of music to include hip-hop, classical, house music, but usually listen to alternative rock or rock; everything but country.
Films I Like:
Suspense/action/thriller films and sci fi - boy films, I guess. Some really great foreign films, too:
Shawshank Redemption
Thelma and Louise
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Star Wars
Auntie Mame
Evil Under the Sun
XXX with Vin Diesel
The Fugitive
The Matrix
Spiderman - where's MY Spiderman?
Office Space
What Lies Beneath
Flight Plan
Out of Africa
Dare - gay-themed short film by Adam Salky
Capote's A Christmas Memory
Foreign lineup:
Au Revoir Les Enfants by Louis Malle
The Lover by Jean-Jacques Annaud
Raise the Red Lantern by Zhang Yimou
Les Triplettes de Belleville by Sylvain Chomet
El Norte by Gregory Nava
Literature I Like:
Fiction, without doubt.
Willa Cather's 'Neighbor Rosicky' is my fave short story.
'Regular Flat Top' by J.G. Hayes is another great short story. Found that one in 'Men on Men 2000: Best Gay Fiction for the Millenium.'
Anne Rice's Vampire series gave me such good dreams - have 1st editions of all of them except the first 3.
Usually read magazines, subscribe to 4, Newsweek is 1 of them.
TV Shows I Like:
Don't watch much TV though it's always on in the background. Have gotten hooked on MMA though. Tap Out! The Office, Globe Trekker, still like to watch Will & Grace, Brit Com Are You Being Served, Sat. Night Live, Antiques Roadshow is interesting - am I becoming like my parents? Yikes! Almost forgot: Pimp My Ride, too. Collegiate BattleBots Championship airing on Dec 10 sounds interesting....

Sup DList?
Finally! Something PG-rated for gays! I very much like and admire the creativity and individuality found on this web site - the eye candy is just a total bonus. Has anybody figured out what 'I'm into you anonymous' is all about? Seems a mystery to me.... My impression is that DList has moved towards something you can show your ma or girlfriends from high school days though something tells me those scenarios seldom happen. Love to DList as it evolves.... Sux they nixed the tunes but I've figured out the embed feature :)
On a brighter note, moved to Georgia over a year ago from having lived 4 years in NYC. Came here for a job and a major quality of life change. Family's down this way but not too close :) Was relieved to get out of NYC - major fun place to visit though. Be sure to bring $$ and patience when you go. Things are kind of strange there when you become accepting to be willing to pay $250,000 for a STUDIO coop apartment that has a monthly maintenance fee of $2,015/month (not a typo). Everything i owned went down 3 flights of stairs ugh. I don't know how I managed to accumulate so much stuffâ¦. I still can't believe that I lived in NY - it's crazy and exciting and aggravating and wonderful all at the same time, full tilt all the time. It's actually fun to drive there 'cause you get to use pretty much all your own favorite rules - everybody else does. You get to perfect your jaywalking skills there, too, with glee. It took me a couple of years before I tried it myself and now I do it at every opportunity that presents. Need to populate my girl and guy gangs all over again - sux. I miss all my homies! Love to The Bronx!
Politics here are a bit different than what I am accustomed to, among other things. There's gay guys here named Bubba and Scooter that drive lumbering full-sized V8 trucks with mud on them but it's going to be okay - I think. It really hit me that I was in another world when I stopped at a roadside stand to buy some homegrown vegetables and the lady was selling moonshine on the side. It appeared to have been her most popular product though maybe that was because of the free samples. It was surreal to experience but it confirmed I was no longer north of the Mason-Dixon Line. She called it 'cider' just like Granny did on The Beverly Hillbillies hahahaha! Another good one: Went to a chain grocery store, Kroger, and saw turtle meat - not a typo - in the meat case. I asked the butcher what kind of turtle it was and he said 'I recon it's the kind that couldn't run too fast.' True story! I've never seen turtle meat for sale outside of Chinatown prior to that. Who the Hell eats turtle meat these days anyway? I guess Bubba and Scooter - I just hope they find each other. Every time I go to that store I scope out the meat case hoping to see what kind of person buys turtle meat and otherwise check out the turtle body parts.
Was a bit confused when I first moved down here - saw a lot of trucks with a falcon symbol for the front license plate so I simply assumed that everyone was pledging allegiance to the work of Falcon XXX Studios so you can imagine my dismay when I found out a few weeks later that the symbol represented the Atlanta Falcons football team!!!! I guess I play with different kinda balls - hahaha! Hope the guys didn't mind the wave and the smile....
Unlike NY, entertainment here is way cheap - you can see local woman's roller derby leagues Sirens vs. Regulators for only $10! Apparently, lesbians can be entertaining. Ten dollars is a lot of value to see miniskirts, elbows and blood all in the same event! Some of them have really great names like 'Sandra Day O'Clobber', 'Babe Ruthless' and 'Punky Bruiser'. One of the women said 'Roller derby is what keeps me going.' Gotta remember to check that out. When in Rome....
They have grits here, too. The good kind: stone ground. For those of you not familiar with that food, grits are a porridge made from corn but unlike other hot cereals, for example, oatmeal or cream of wheat, which are typically sweetened with sugar and flavored with cream, grits are salted and buttered and eaten as a side dish for breakfast. Yummy!
Oh, I almost forgot! I'm learning lots of new words, such as 'Y'all' and 'Double-wide', which does not necessarily refer to rolling papers but apparently also to a type of dwelling that seems to attract broken down cars, tornados and hurricanes.
They gotta a lotto bugs here, too. So many that it sounds like aliens are landing or like a boiler is going to explode though maybe the sound is coming from that nuclear power plant that I understand is over in South Carolina - I'm not sure. I've seen a few bugs here that I'm certain are undiscovered species; one so large my dog barked at it. For evidence, I try to take pictures to share with my coworkers that are from other states, as I am, who may not accustomed to seeing them. I try to put my shoe in the photo for size perspective and one of them tried to attack my shoe! Careful! Apparently, they get really brave when they get so large yuck. Speaking of bugs... just set up an awesome aquarium and bought some really cool fish for it: 'Siam Yellow Master' and 'Brilliant Blue Diamond' discus fish - the king of fishes! They're super awesome but I gotta feed them all kinds of frozen bugs that you can buy at the pet store - gross barf me out - but I guess you don't put a piece of lettuce on a hook to catch a fish, right? Spent way too much money on a really awesome-looking algae eater catfish guy (gal?) for the tank that hides all day!!! Maybe he'll overcome his shyness - i hope so. He's called 'Flash or Emperor Pleco' if you wanna Google to see what he looks like. During this whole process I have learned a lot of things and have discovered green hair algae. LOVE MY AWESOME FISHES!!!!
I created the DList group 'tattooed men' for men with tattoos and/or their admirers. If that kinda thing floats your boat, check it out. If you have an awesome tat or a pic of one, please post it. I've uploaded a lot of faves that I've collected.
Was recently told that if I sang that I'd sound like James Morrison and I didn't know who he was so I listened to one of his songs and it was kinda scary the similarity. Somebody else mentioned that I look like mixed-martial arts fighter George St. Pierre though he's got 40 lbs. on me and he's ripped. If you don't already know, I'm much older than the average DLister. I finally attained the age where I think that most everyone is beautiful. Really!
My dog's a good cuddler but have decided that i want/need/am ready for a LTR after a long hiatus in the boyfriend dept. Yeah, somebody to be my stuff. I don't wanna come home anymore to find my house is dark and my pots are cold. Am gonna try real hard this next go around to avoid another favorite mistake. Anybody that's got a nice smile and can make me laugh is doing really great in my book. In the chosen, great trust will be had. I am not perfect but I know that am worth it. Know that if you show up in a vintage sports car wearing sunglasses and a big smile and a french bulldog puppy with everything packed for a weekend trip out of town that major bonus points will be awarded but that's not a requirement - very helpful though, but not a requirement. The earnest hunt for The One has begun.
If you've gotten this far, congrats. I suspect few do or I'd at least get an email here and there for feedback :( If you like the vibe to my profile or wanna know anything else about me, don't be scared to hit me up, guys! The worst that could happen is that you email somebody. Besides, these Georgia/South Carolina boys haven't been so welcoming!
I'm not on DList so much anymore since the music went away, which is a pity because I used to really enjoy listening to other's playlists as well as my own. Some of them were awesome!!!
FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHY THE FULL-SIZE TRUCKS HERE ARE SLOW/LUMBERING!!! THEY CAN BRAG THAT THEY GET 20 MPG!!!!
