Born on December 2nd, 1981, Britney was destined for stardom. She began her rise to fame on the popular talent show 'Star Search', and 'The Mickey Mouse Club' shortly thereafter. She also had a brief stint in a pop group known as 'Innosense'. She was then signed with major recording label, Jive Records, and began work on her debut album Baby One More Time. Upon it's release in 1999, Britney was established as a pop icon.
With 5 studio albums under her belt, Britney Spears (according to wikipedia)is ranked as the 8th best selling female recording artist in the United States, having sold nearly 83 million CD's worldwide.
Despite personal turmoil, Britney is still one of the foremost pop singers in the world. Her album Blackout, which was released during a difficult time in her life, was the most critically acclaimed of all her albums to date. It proved that even through her darkest hours, her fans still stuck by her.
With the release of her 6th studio album entitled Circus, Britney Spears was back! Her first single Womanizer broke records on the charts by jumping from #96 to #1 in only one weeks time! And with her worldwide Circus Tour, Britney reestablished herself as the Princess of Pop.

I have to say her concert was amazing. I saw it in Boston on March 16th. She looked fantastic and performed very well. The only two gripes that I have was that the entire show was mimed and her dancing is definitely not where it use to be. I'm probably the biggest B Spears fan that I know and I'm not all criticizing her, just making an observation. I'm sure many other people agree with me. Fans and non-fans alike. | |
