Old School Cars

Posted By: Manius on: 11/19/09 2:52 PM

Corvette guy here. My dream car is a sky blue/red/stunning white '65 Corvette Convertible. The parts are just so dang expensive, but you can find a lot of stuff at usedcorvettes.com. Older cars are just all around better looking and just plain better than newer ones.

What do you guys think? What older cars you want or wish you had?

I'm trying to look for a 1972 Toyota Celica lift back. The oldest cars that I have are a 93 Supra and RX7.

     Hmm.
There are a few I would like to get. I would like to have another Mitsubishi Starion. That was one hell of a car.

And one day I want to get a late 70's early 80's Subaru Brat and restore it.

A 77 Stingray would be really nice too.

yeah it wasn't any 500 HP but it did the job :P. I ran G Stock with it in SCCA for a few. Depressed because now because I have to run H Stock with the... Pontiac Sunfire that I have acquired as my interim car until I purchase my, fingers crossed, Mazda 3.

New racing beat headers, sport suspension, breaks, high flow air intake, Hard dog roll bar, greddy catch can, and a skunk 2 limited 10th anniversary shift knob lol.

Now what i want to do... reupholster the interior, put in new stereo system, body kit by racing beat, new tires and rims. Right now I have the stock rims on. And finally putting in a turbo kit. Although with the gas prices ill probably go broke. o.0

not the new ones, but the original fj-40's were peretty sick cars. really expensive too. a shitty one can go for 8,000. where as i bought my jeep for 4,000 and now it's worth 15,000, but i've spent about that much on it in the past year. as far as 4wheeling goes i prefer the CJ's, but the FJ is pretty sweet for sarfari's and shit like that.

The only things done to the outside is 20" by 8.5" chrome wheels, chevy orange calipers, black rear drums and cross drilled/ slotted rotors.

I also have a 95 Impala SS that I drive once in a great while, mostly it stays covered, have tried to keep it stock for the most part. I've put an alarm with remote start, a cold air induction on it, high powered coil and performance wires and plugs, also new performance distributor.
The interior has a new sterio but big enough to install with no face kit, new rear deck speakers, door speakers, a box in the trunk with two 12" subs and an amp powering the subs and one powering the speakers. I've put 20" by 9.5" chrome wheels on it along with chevy orange clipers all the way around.

I have two cars: a 2002 6-speed nissan maxima and a 1994 5-speed BMW 325is. The BMW is my fixer-upper; bought it for $600 and have probably put another $2-3k into getting it reliable and looking good so I haven't taken it to any track yet. The maxima I've taken to the drag strip once (PB stock is a 14.2@99), I've been on MSR in Dallas, Texas once, and I've autocrossed it once. At MSR everyone was really impressed and they kept asking what I had in my car; a supra that was in front of me dynoed earlier that day at 390 whp and he had coilovers and some seriously wide tires and he couldn't get away from me the entire session. He said he was pissed! lol. We both passed everyone else there, but I was in the 'beginner' session, so that's why.
