i actually made the mistake of going to FIDM in la for their graphic design program!! man am i pissed about that... they hardly showed me n e thing and they charged a buttload of cash and almost none of my credits transfer to any uc's or cal states...aaaagggghhh!!!! | |

luckily i had pretty solid connections before the economy hit the crapper so ive been doing ok.
sucks tho that when the economy plunges designers and artists are the first to go haha. then again the world cant function without design since EVERYTHING is designed. double edged sword i guess haha. |

There's a lot less print work, so I spend most of my time surfing the web, leaving witty comments on Facebook and sneaking peeks at hot boys on DList...
Luckily, I have other skills that keep me employed, even though the hens swear there will be no job cuts. I suggest all graphic designers pick up other skills, whether it's web design, management or branding -- whatever! Fight to keep your job, designers! |

you know i think i actually lucked out, cause i just got a pretty good job at a big ad firm here in Colorado.
as one of the guys said, everything is pretty much a form of design, so theres always a demand. show some initiative and persistance and i've found that pretty much doors will just keep opening in this field. |
