If the Land of Misfit Toys elected a team of cultural ambassadors, Logan Lynn would be its poet laureate. In Portland's pulsating music scene, he occupies a singular position- an emo prophet with a penchant for electronic beats, preaching the Good Word to drug-damaged crybabies.

After getting a lo-fi mixtape from 1998 called "This Is Folk Techno" into the right hands, he released his debut album in 2000. Logan Lynn's "GLEE" is a blissful, sex-drenched romp through some emotionally treacherous territory. Produced by Pfog, heavy themes of religion, sexuality and identity played out alongside upbeat grooves and smiley-face rhythms. Logan Lynn's debut blended spleen-venting lyrics with "Let's Dance!" optimism and it's been said that Lynn "puts the DISCO back into DISCOMFORT."

His self-titled sophomore effort was released in 2006, using his earlier work as a springboard for exploring fresh sonic territory. The album release coincided with a performance for a crowd of over 400,000 alongside The Presets, Bob Mould and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult at San Francisco's Folsom Street Fair. The release of "Logan Lynn" brought with it five music videos which can, for all intents and purposes, be credited for putting Lynn's music on the map.

A remix collaboration with Producer Carlos Cortes of Portland DJ collective Assemble The Empire yielded an E.P. entitled "Feed Me To The Wolves", which was released in the fall of 2007. In 2008, Logan hosted the music television show "NewNowNext" on MTV's Logo Network and his video for "Feed Me To The Wolves" was picked by the network as one of the "TOP 10 OF 2008"!

Lynn was signed to The Dandy Warhols' record label, "BEAT THE WORLD" RECORDS and released his much anticipated 3rd full length record, "FROM PILLAR TO POST" ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND, 2009, alongside a 4-Volume Remix EP collection called "Blood In The Water", which features Remixes by Styrofoam, Boy In Static, The Gentry, Ariake Waveband, Y-Tron, and MANY more.

Logan has begun working on two new studio albums and is planning a US tour as well, so...STAY TUNED! Much, MUCH more to come.

  Well, if you didn’t already think I was CRAZY, you will after you read the interview I did with “Truth Explosion” Magazine about the first night I spent in rehab in the beginning of 2008. From “Truth Explosion” Magazine: “Logan Lynn: “Demons And White Light Saved My Life” When I was about 12 years old I went to a sleepover and watched the original Chucky movie – I was so scared that, in order to keep myself from freaking out, I stayed up all night and counted all the stitches in a rug…it worked. – Logan Lynn: A couple of years back, after a 16-year cocaine addiction, I entered a specialty drug rehab clinic in St. Helens, Oregon. Truth.Explosion.Magazine: Can you tell us about your first night there? LL: The first night of my rehab experience in St. Helens was literally hell on earth. TEM: Hell on earth huh? That’s pretty intense… LL: I had the worst pain all through my body, massive paranoia…I was not functioning and had completely lost what was left of my humanity at that point. TEM: Sounds so horrible… LL: I was 10 hours or so into detox and suddenly, in the middle of the night, my room filled with a bright white light. Then all I could hear was screaming…not human screaming. TEM: What sort of screaming? LL: This was animal-like, mixed with human screams and it was coming from outside the window. The lights were so bright I couldn’t see, and then suddenly, it stopped. TEM: All right, so you weren’t joking about the “hell on earth” bit – did you make a break for it? LL: I was paralyzed with fear and could not bring myself to move an inch or say a word. TEM: Woah. LL: Then, without warning…the white light filled my room again. TEM: And the screaming? LL: The screaming was louder, sounding closer…and there were wolves or dogs barking as well. Then, nothing. TEM: You must have been freaking out!? LL: I was sure that this was the end and that I was dying…about to be taken to hell by demons or whatever… TEM: Well I’m glad you’re still with us today… LL: Man, me too. TEM: So, did the demons ever come back? LL: Yes. When the light filled my room the 3rd time, though, I felt a calmness come over me. I thought, “Well, I’m just not going to let them take me. I’m not going anywhere.” Like…I wasn’t going to be taken without a fight. TEM: Must have been such an intense night! So what happened next? LL: I fell asleep in the early morning and when I woke up, I joined the rest of the group. TEM: How did you feel? LL: I felt human again, like the poison and fear had left my body. I was thinking about what I had gone through during my detox, having flashbacks of the fight to stay alive and not get sucked out of the window. TEM: A lot to think about for sure! LL: Totally. At meal time, someone at my table started talking about how annoying it has been to be on the South side of the building the past few nights. TEM: Umm why’s that? LL: Due to the bright lights and loud noise from the movie they were shooting in the park across the street. TEM: Hah! Ohhh my! LL: Yeah. It turns out that there had been no demons and the white light was movie lights positioned where they shined directly into my room. TEM: I can’t believe that! What jerks! LL: The “Twilight” franchise had been shooting some kind of spooky vampire action sequence all night my first night there and THAT was why there had been so much screaming. TEM: TWILIGHT!?! AS IN STEPHENIE MEYER’S VAMPIRE HARLEQUIN ROMANCE STARRING KRISTEN STEWART AND THE OH SO DREAMY ROBERT PATTINSON?!?! How did that make you feel… LL: I didn’t know what it was at the time. It was before the first one came out. TEM: Oh. LL: The event had been manufactured by some art director in Hollywood, not some higher being, but it had forever changed me. TEM: So you faced some fears? LL: Definitely. I had found some strength inside, some resolve to live, during the night I spent alone, “fighting” to stay in this world. TEM: That’s pretty cool – but more importantly – Did you see ROBERT PATTINSON? You know…RPattz!? LL: Ha ha ha. I saw many things that night, but Mr. Pattinson wasn’t a main character, no. TEM: All joking aside – I think it’s a pretty amazing thing you have done for yourself. LL: It sure beats dying a miserable, slow death and dragging everyone you know and love along for the ride. I’m happy we all made it through. TEM: Totally. And how are you now? LL: I’ve since had a successful time of staying clean and repairing what was damaged in my life…in no small part thanks to the “Twilight” movie franchise and their manufactured end-of-the-world nightmare which, ultimately, helped traumatize me just enough to save my life. TEM: Well congratulations. I have one final question – what is the “truth” about Logan Lynn? LL: It’s silly, but I believe the hell of that first night, that fear of being dragged by demons into the blinding white light, into the screaming, left me with a general resolve to make it through. I had tapped into some determination to pick up the pieces and hold on for my life…to not be taken out against my will. I had been so afraid for so long before that night and found myself suddenly fearless after, ready to take on the task of getting well and making things right. Silver lining…”

You can check it out below or CLICK HERE to redirect to “Pop Reviews Now”!!! …and now, for the interview… From “Pop Reviews Now”: “Logan Lynn may be virtually unknown to the mainstream music scene but around the indie music circles, he’s one of the biggest things ever. With acclaimed reviews for his newest release From Pillar To Post coming in from all around the world (and the internet) and the video for his lead single Write it On My Left Arm debuting on MTV, there’s no doubt that this guy will be here for years to come. So here’s what materialized when I picked his brains. Enjoy! PRN: For my readers who haven’t heard of you yet, how would you describe yourself as an artist and your music? LL: I think it’s safe to call what I do electropop, but I tend to explore the darker side of things lyrically and write about what’s real to me at any given time. Over the past decade since I released my first record my sound has evolved from a very stripped, lo-fi experience into what it is today. I think it’s much more musical now than ever before on the instrumental side, due to my working with such talented people in recent years instead of trying to do it all myself. It’s given me the chance to focus on the parts I am good at and let my collaborators handle the elements which fall under their expertise. It’s made the finished product more polished, full sounding…bigger. PRN: To you, what is the most important element of a song – the instrumentation, the melody, the lyrics or what? Why? LL: For me, it’s the lyrics and melody. When I listen to other people’s music that is what I am paying most attention to…do their lyrics make me cringe? If not, I listen further. If so, it’s over almost immediately. Most of my songs start as words on a page, then morph into vocal melodies with my keyboard, then get reworked and remixed by a producer in the studio once the collaboration begins…but I’m rooted firmly on the lyrical/vocal end, however the song is created, and always retain total control over those elements. I feel like that is the key ingredient for the connections I’ve made with my listeners. They are tuned in to hear something honest, so I try and write things as they are, whether that makes me look good or not. PRN: What do you think the pop music industry right now lacks? LL: I think right now is a time in the industry where there really are no limits, from a consumer perspective AND as an artist. Whatever a listener wants to find, they can do so almost immediately with the click of the mouse. I think, if anything, the music industry lacks ingenuity in adapting to the digital age on a whole. With the way things are now, bands and labels really have to chart a new course with their fans and markets in order to keep up with how quickly the technology is changing. The big business middle men are becoming less important as direct relationships with fans are easier to cultivate. I actually think this is a good thing…the old walls of the old way of doing things have been broken down and it’s left an open window for creative musicians with good songs and no budget to get noticed and have their music heard. PRN: Reviews of your new album compared you to a lot of established artists, how you do feel about being compared to them? LL: Yeah, it’s been great to get the response we’ve gotten so far in the press. I’m obviously honored to be compared to people who I have respect for and actually listen to myself! I am thrilled for fans of those comparison bands to find me by way of them. I’ll take it. PRN: What aspect of your career do you put the most importance on? Why? LL: I want to make songs that people can relate to, in part because I love making music and in part because it helps shrink my world to a manageable size. When someone connects with my tunes I receive that as a direct connection with me and it makes me feel less alone…like I’m a part of something larger than just me alone in the world. It’s hard to explain, but that’s what I’m in it for. PRN: If you were to enter the industry not as a singer, what would you be – a songwriter, producer, record executive? LL: If I lost my voice tomorrow I’d probably still want to be a songwriter…I mostly have interest in the musical side of things in the industry, so I can’t imagine that I’d pursue being an executive of anything where I couldn’t wear jeans and a hat everyday to work. I can see myself producing for others (and myself) later down the road if the right project came my way. At this point, I’m still learning a lot about how it all works and am happy to be doing what I’m doing. PRN: Your new album, From Pillar To Post, was pre-released a while back and is gonna be officially released in late November. What do you want to achieve with this album? LL: I’d love for it to be heard and for people to like having heard it…plain and simple. Beyond that, everything is gravy. PRN: In the near future, would you like to be signed to one of the Big 4 labels? Why or why not? LL: Not if they are going to tell me what to do and put me in some uncomfortable box. The good thing about “Beat The World” is that they sign individuals and encourage them to stay that way. They gave me the opportunity to develop myself, not be turned into something some focus group says I should be in order to sell more records and make them more money. I am totally happy with where I’m positioned in label land for the moment and wouldn’t change a thing. PRN: How do you want your music to grow or change as you release more material? Do you want to do one thing now and a completely different thing the next time or would you want to slowly and consciously change or something else? LL: I tend to mix it up and change my sound with each release…the basic properties of my songs remain the same, but the music changes as I work with different producers on projects and my writing changes as I grow…I just want every record I make to be better than the last. If I can keep that up, I’ll be happy. PRN: What do you want to be remembered for in the next 10 or 20 years? LL: I’d like to be remembered for making records that matter…for being brave in my songwriting and not holding back. I want people to remember the truth about me, whatever that turns out to be over the next 10 to 20 years.

  “Bad Life + Gadgets” “Bad Life + Gadgets” is based out of NYC and is the sum of two parts: Jean Goode and Teddy Forthewin…they are friends of my band by way of Carlos, who produced my new record, “From Pillar To Post”, and is now on the East Coast with them producing a solo record for Jean. These guys have undercurrents of hip-hop and trip-hop all wound into this sort of indie electro experience and, well…they have their hands in EVERYTHING including a remix of “Write It On My Left Arm” for Volume 3 of my “Blood In The Water” Remix EP Collection. It’s great and will be coming at you in November. Jean Goode also lent her voice to “Feed Me To The Wolves” on my new release…Jean and Teddy are lovely and talented and I’m stoked on their remix.   Hey friends! It has been quite a week so far. It is Friday now and I am wishing I had brought different shoes, but other than that have been having a super busy, productive, and generally nice time. I’ve been going to tons of stuff during the day and into the night…CMJ is crazy! Thanks to everybody who came out to my showcase at “The Bowery Electric” on festival opening night. “Cars & Trains” and I had a great time and it was loads of fun to see ya. I’ve had a long-standing airplay relationship with their “Logo” channel since its conception, but I seem to be spilling over into their mainstream networks now as well. Cool, right? I’m pretty excited about more ears and eyes and all of that. MTV rules. The Portland, Oregon based singer-songwriter has created a record understated in tone, yet luxuriously relaxing: The captivating chimes of opening track “Feed Me to the Wolves” roll throughout, softening on “If He Hollers”, “Bottom Your Way to the Top” and “Write It On My Left Arm”, but thriving on album highlights “Bleed Him Out” and “You Win the War”. Occasionally From Pillar to Post leaps into a welcomed world of acoustic open landscapes: on “Burning Your Glory” particularly, Lynn demonstrates he is not a one trick pony.
