The Top Contender For My Wall Space (11/20/09) [View | Hide]
I first became acquainted with artist Antonio Bokel back in June when he did an amazing installation at Pier Mauá for the opening night of Fashion Rio. However, I actually didn't know he was the artist responsible for the installation until a couple of months ago when a girlfriend of mine mentioned his name, and suggested I take a look at his work online. I immediately fell in love with it. There is something about it that reminds me of Banksy, and I like that most of his work is big enough to take up an entire wall, which is exactly what I need. And then there are also the pinks and blues, which as you can tell by the blog are a total selling point to me.
A Sneak Peek At Last Night's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (11/20/09) [View | Hide]
The pictures of the show are already all over the web, but I will try to post some over the weekend or on Monday. I loved the way Caroline Trentini looked.
For a backstage video of the show, head over to The Cut.
That's How You Develop A Military Fetish (11/20/09) [View | Hide]
I know I have been going on and on about the Erotica issue of ffw Mag!, but it is only because I think it is the best fashion magazine published in Brazil this year, and you guys should be able to have access to some of the editorials.
The military menswear story was inspired by Butt and Kaiserin, and it is sexy and a little camp at the same time. It is also photographer Gui Paganini's best work this year. View more scans after the jump.
If you are in Brazil and you haven't bought a copy of the magazine yet, you should be running to a newsstand now because there are some other great features and some amazing pictures in this issue.

Rolling Stone, Victoria's Secret, And France's Ticket To The World Cup (11/19/09) [View | Hide]
Actress Alinne Moraes posed naked for the latest cover of Rolling Stone Brazil, but her nipples were mysteriously removed from the picture. It is sort of creepy when you look at it on newsstands.
Victoria's Secret newest angel Emanuela de Paula will have to skip tonight's VS Fashion Show because of a previous commitment with a Danish retailer. Brazilian redhead Cintia Dicker has been added to the casting. The show happens tonight in New York, and the Black Eyed Peas will be performing.
Here is a preview of what Alessandra Ambrosio will be wearing tonight.
It is time for him to come out already: swimmer Fernando Scherer does a dance routine in pink slippers in the second season of the reality show A Fazenda.
Where To Stay Next Time You Are In Rio (11/19/09) [View | Hide]
If you are going to Rio to party non-stop, then yes, get a place in Ipanema or Leblon as usual. However, if you are traveling to Rio anytime soon and you are looking to relax and detox, then I suggest checking out Mama Ruisa, located in the heart Santa Teresa.
The brand new bed & breakfast offers seven modern and luxurious rooms with breathtaking views of the Sugar Loaf and the bay of Guanabara, and a swimming pool surrounded by palm trees. It also provides its guests with a masseur and a private chauffeur. Sounds to me like the perfect place to spend the weekend after attending all the new year's eve parties. From Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, some brand new pictures of 18-year-old Alex Portela, who I am sure we will soon be seeing in a Brazilian TV show or soap opera.

What Should I Hang On My Wall? (11/18/09) [View | Hide]
I have started doing a lot of research on Brazilian street artists recently since I basically only have one large wall to display art in my new place in São Paulo, and I want to make sure I use it wisely. Obviously most of the artwork I like is completely out of my price range, but still it can be appreciated.
Right now Wagner Pinto is on my list of artists worth saving for, and not just because he was brought up in Porto Alegre in the south of the country like me. His work is largely inspired by candomblé, indigenous elements, religious costumes and rituals, and folklore, and I love how vibrant and clean it looks. Make sure to check out more on his website.
