In college I had to take this TV programming class where my teacher would assign us all networks and specific shows and we had to write business reports with ratings analyses and all that crap. My network? The CW. My show? The fucking reincarnation of 90210. So this date brings up bad memories of all-nighters, bordering on caffeine-induced psychosis, and an overwhelming sense of aggression towards the targeted demograhpic of women 18 to 34.
I just checked up on the show to see if it was cancelled yet (it wasn’t?) and apparently the new season doesn’t start until the 13th. Really, CW? You didn’t think it would be clever to premiere on 9/02/10?

It would seriously be comedy gold. I fucking love watching them try to form coherent, substantial sentences. A few ideas:
- Real Housewives of the Tea Party: They all sit around and blame Obama for their problems
- Mythbusters, Tea Party edition: They perform biblical experiments, but instead of using regular scientific methods, they just make up shit as they go along
- Who Wants to be an American Citizen: They ask illegal immigrants questions about America to determine whether or not to let them become legalized (no one ever wins)
- So You Think You Can Build a Mosque at Ground Zero: Yelling match between a group of angry middle-aged white people and a few random non-whites that happen to be nearby

After looking at a couple of pretty awesome places last weekend, I think I’ve decided to move into a bedroom in a house with these two other guys who seem pretty cool and decent to live with. As awesome as living alone would be, I think I’d be better off living with actual people where I can have an active social circle again. AND it’s closer to friends/work/downtown, so yeah. Excited.

I thought I’d watch a movie on Netflix. In the mood for a good ol’ sci-fi. Fired up Netflix, randomly clicked on Outland which was suggested to me by them. Sure, why not, it has Sean Connery and takes place in space.
15 minutes and 34 seconds later, I’m done. Too slow for me right now. Maybe another time. Next choice: Dune! It’s a better-known movie and I’ve been meaning to see it, so let’s do it.
45 minutes and 23 seconds later, I shut it off. I don’t understand what the point of this movie even is. At this point I’m just ready to give up on watching a movie when Cube 2: Hypercube catches my eye. This time, I’m just giving myself a half hour before I decide whether to continue.
EDIT: It was actually pretty awesome. But only because I’ve seen the original. So definitely see Cube and Cube 2: Hypercube and maybe the next sequel after that but I don’t know since I haven’t seen it.

I mean, so what, everyone does. Everyone pretty much has to make that decision between “all right, I really like this person and want to take this further” and “I think I should just be friends with this person.” For me, this decision is excruciatingly important and I over think it way too much. If I choose one course of action, I drive myself crazy agonizing about what I would be missing from the other option. Sure, I could start something serious with him, but if something goes wrong, I’ll probably lose him as a friend. On the other hand, if I just stay good friends with him, I could miss out on something really special.
I assume that for most people, this period of should-I-or-shouldn’t-I lasts probably a few days, or however much time before both parties start to lose interest in each other. I, on the other hand, deliberate my decision for weeks, not realizing that the more time I waste, the more time That One Guy drifts into the Friend Zone where he no longer has any interest in me because I’ve turned into That Guy Who Can’t Make Up His Mind. And then I just shrug my shoulders, figure another friend can’t hurt, and eat pizza into the spiraling abyss of loneliness! Win-win!
