- so sayonara kokoro chan~!! matane~! (7/21/10) [View | Hide]

Kokoro is moving back to Japan to take care of her grandfather in Kyoto, and she did a little farewell picnic at Tuileries. It was really nice :)
But I will miss her a lot :'(

- so here are more happy summer days :) (7/13/10) [View | Hide]

Yep :) The weather in Paris has been really hot and summery this month. A little bit too hot maybe, but I like it :D I really wish summer would last and last and last. I am very happy this time of year :)
My online friend from a while back passed away a week ago from cancer. I hadn't spoken to her for a long time as I never really go to those forums anymore, but she wrote me a couple of weeks before she died on facebook to ask how I was doing and told me about her illness. She seemed optimistic though, so I was surprised to read about what happened. She was only 35 too. Rest in peace, Tricia! I've been lighting candles for you all week :)

|
- so who remembers frédéric? (7/1/10) [View | Hide]

Yo! Did you miss me? :P How is everyone's summer going? I'm loving mine! It's soooo hot in Paris this week, and I can't get enough of it. I hope all summer will be like this.
I made a tumblr account yesterday. I don't think I will post much of my own photos on there, but I like the idea of having somewhere to post random stuff from online: barkusmollingmo.tumblr.com
The photos are from a shoot I did with Frédéric. He likes renovating his new apartment in the nude :P

|
- so here is some more of the fiasco shoot (6/10/10) [View | Hide]

I didn't post about it here, but I did a shoot for FIASCO magazine last month. You can find the entire issue online at their website if you are interested http://www.fiascomag.com/
There is nothing more there from me than what I'm posting here now, but maybe worth checking out anyway. Many other contributors :)

|
- so let's talk about LOST (5/26/10) [View | Hide]

It's over! No more episodes.
I'm going to put the rest of this behind a cut so I don't spoil anything in case you don't want to know how it ends.
OK so first... As an episode I thought it was great. Someone told me the original writers came back to do the end, and it makes me wish it had just been them all along. Remember before when that terrible Nicki & Paolo episode was an exception? Lately well written episodes have been so far between.... The Jin & Sun remembering scene was a million times more powerful than when they were reunited a few episodes ago, or even when they died together.
It was really nice to see the characters interacting again. That's something I have missed as well. It brought back that old feeling!
As for the end explanation...lol. Ridiculous! Purgatory? Come on :P OK I guess I can accept that as an explanation for this last season, but how does this have anything to do with the island? Dharma? The monster? The statue? Time travel? The only connection they made was that the things they did on the island together were "the most important events in their lives".
I guess wrapping all this up well would have been more than difficult, but that doesn't make the fail any less of a fail :P
|
- so don't you wish your picnic was fun like mine (5/25/10) [View | Hide]

Paris weather has been super sweet these last days. I love this heat! We did a picnic this sunday at Parc Andre Citroen. Usually we do it at Champs de Mars (the park under the eiffel tower), but there was this big facebook drunken event there that day and it's nicer to avoid. I thought maybe as this park is a little less accessible there would be less people there would be less people, but not at all! So many ^__^

|
- so omedeto ikuko! we love you! (5/17/10) [View | Hide]

From the photos you'd think it was Perle's birthday again, as she always kind of steals the show. It was actually Ikuko's though, and we were some people at her place yesterday, celebrating. Lots of good food there, as always. ^__^
It was a really nice day outside too. Seems the weeks of cold weather might be behind us.

|
- so have a look (5/15/10) [View | Hide]

Right now there is a feature about me and my photos in Out There magazine, with a little interview as well. If you are interested in seeing some of my photos in print, you might want to check it out. I actually like this one a lot. It's nice :)
You can find it in some stores around the world (NYC, London, Berlin, Amsterdam & Madrid), but if you don't live there you can get it from their website as well: www.outtheremagazine.com/
There is also a feature about Japanese photographer Eiki Mori as, who(m?) I love! :)
|
- so let's be controversial again! RELIGION \o/ (5/10/10) [View | Hide]

OK first just let me say that English is not my main language, and I am not even that good with words in the first place. So if you get offended by something, try to think twice and ask yourself if maybe you are misunderstanding what I am trying to say. And if you leave a comment, be nice to eachother! I'm very lucky with you guys, and how nice you are when you comment here. Almost never any trolling ^__^
I watched The Invention of Lying tonight. It is a comedy, and a funny one, but I was really thinking about how good it was at showing religion for what it is. It showed a little bit of why we have religion in the first place, with the good sides, and how hard it is to avoid the bad sides.
I am atheist. While I don't exclude something more spiritual, I really doubt it. And I really think religions are all something made up or imagined by people. It is just too easy to be suspicious of something that has changed so much throughout history, depending on what people had a say in the matter. Let me use Christianity as an example as it is what I know the most about. The Bible was written by a bunch of dudes. A bunch of them decided what went into it, and what did not make the cut. Some of the main stories in there are also suspiciously (to say the least) similiar to other mythology from the same region, predating Christianity by a good bit. And even after they finished it, it has been changed right? Even a translation is a pretty big transformation when you consider this is supposed to be the written laws of our lives. Think about all the different "truths" that have been presented as the word of God, from medieval Catholic church to Hitler to that original Mormon. No way, man. This is all people and their ideas.
And then when you look at the ideas... We all laugh at the ridiculous science fiction mythology of that Scientology guy, but people accept the stories of Christianity without thinking about it because we've been so familiar with it since we were little kids. Jesus walked on water? Sure, everyone knows that :P That's not ridiculous at all. Oh and what about the Father who has a Son who is also at the same time the Father (...). Or the virgin birth. I know a lot of this is described as "miracles", but once you go there then you are kind of in the same category as the Scientology alien stories for me. I'm pretty sure that if you look at the people with the most education, you will find they are a lot less religious. Once people have more knowledge of how the world works it becomes harder to convince them that thunder and lighting is actually a hammer god in the clouds, or that boys kissing boys is something dangerous.
Please don't get me wrong; I am not dismissing those of you who are religious as uneducated or stupid. There are many people in this world who are more intelligent than me and who are also religious. But it is something that makes me wonder.
And it's hardly harmless either you know? There is so much shit going on in the name of religion, so much hate and conflict. I know there are many good things going on too, but do we really need that to be nice to eachother?
(Sorry again for the awkward writing. I am not good with words!)

- so i saw legolas (5/3/10) [View | Hide]

We were at Tuileries yesterday after going to a photo exhibition nearby, and there was Orlando Bloom with his girlfriend by one of the fountains. He looked me in the eyes too, and he saw that I recognized him. Poor guy :P I really never want to be famous like that.
I went to play squash today with Lolo at the center downstairs. It was my first time ever doing it, but I don't think I did too bad. My arm fucking hurts now though! lol
|
- so we went to the flea market (5/2/10) [View | Hide]

There is this area at the north in Paris where there are a lot of vendors antique shops on the weekend. Rohman is here again for the weekend and we went up there yesterday to see Elisabeth. I normally don't like to bring my camera to this area as it is not really as safe as other places. I was robbed two times last year, and as my camera is so expensive I really prefer to be careful. But in the middle of all that there is this pocket of these chic and snobbish antique shops, and I didn't worry there :)

- so the new version of spotify is amazing! (4/28/10) [View | Hide]

For those of you who don't know, Spotify is the software I'm using to listen to music. It was already amazing before, but after the last update it is pretty close to perfect. It is a streaming service, and in the past you could only listen to songs in the (huge though!) spotifly catalogue. But now they let you add tracks from files on your own computer as well. Amazing!
And they have really expanded the social part, making profiles public and linked to your facebook. You can see the public playlists of your friends etc. I guess most of you are outside of Europe, but if you already use it, here is the link to my profile: http://open.spotify.com/user/sipho
But yeah, for now it is only available in a few European countries. I hear they are releasing it in USA this summer, but I'm not sure. If you do live in Norway, Sweden, UK, France or Finland you should really look into this. It is the only way I have been listening to music for more than a year now, and with this latest update it is even better. I think the paid version (which i use) is available in most Euro countries too, and not just those few.
(Oh and if you have it and don't have the update yet, you can just download the software again from the website and it will be there. That's what I did :P)
|
- so it is the start of picnic season (4/26/10) [View | Hide]

Finally! The weather in Paris has been really nice this last week, and we did a picnic sunday at Champs de Mars (the park by the Eiffel Tower). Picnics are nice because people can sort of come and go as they want, and easily bring friends. And everyone just bring food and drink themselves, so you don't have to prepare much. Laidback! :))) Actually, maybe I should write here in advance sometime, as I know some of you live in Paris. Then you can stop by if you want.
Anyway, it was really cool. I did a bread in the morning before we went, and other people brought nice stuff too. Rohman's ex girlfriend brought her little chihuahua, and Kokoro was dog sitting as well. Got to meet a couple of new people too :)

|
- so gambaru! (4/20/10) [View | Hide]

I've been doing pretty good with working out all year, but my rhythm and routine has been falling apart a bit lately after I tried to change it up a bit. Need to get back into the flow again!
My body doesn't look all that different from before, but it feels different. It feels less bleh than before. And my abs are definately harder ^__^

|
- so it's the end of the world (4/16/10) [View | Hide]

Seems this volcano thing came at the worst time for my people back home. My mother was supposed to fly to Milano yesterday, my sister should have been going to Turkey today, and my grandmother was supposed to go to London this sunday. Oops! It's not just Norway anymore either, it's most air traffic in all of Europe.
Last I read they said it could last for weeks or more, and that the other bigger volcano was likely to erupt as well. Nice :P
|
- so here are some tweets that never were (3/24/10) [View | Hide]

I know some people find it annoying when people spam their twitter or facebook with updates, and I've held back a lot of random thoughts today. Figured I'd post some here instead :)))
Feeling a little bit bleh today. I even have a tiny fever. It's alright if it just stays like this though, so let's hope it won't get worse.
Watched LOST! The first half of the episode felt so slow, but the second half was cool. Was I the only one who was thinking "Where's the money, Lebowski?!?!" when Jacob was dunking Richard in the sea? :P I'm pretty sure the actor of Jacob is the same as the one dunking The Dude.
I didn't talk to my mother since my birthday. Maybe I should feel bad for not calling her, but she didn't call me either :P
There was a French documentary on tv about (amongst other things) the beef industry in Texas, and it was kind of shocking and gross. So delicious though! I love cheese burgers. ^___^
That Baby Bieber Boy is really not cute. First Miley Cyrus, and now this? 12 year olds have terrible taste! :P
|
- so here's my formspring thingy (3/21/10) [View | Hide]

That's Douglas on the bed. He is shy :)
I did a formspring.me account a little while ago, and I guess I should post it here too. It's this thing were people just ask questions and I answer them. Well, the ones I choose to :P I know the concept feels a little self centered, but people have been asking so I guess someone wanted to know...
Lots of pervy questions too. No surprise there :P

- so i just wanted to say (3/18/10) [View | Hide]

Thanks everyone!
Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes, here and elsewhere. I still have a bunch of emails that I need to reply to, but I promise I will get around to it soon. ♥
Thank you Dana!!!! You know why ;)
Thank you "A. Hager", for the nice little package you sent. I finished all the chocolates and candy, and we have been playing with the other random stuff. Such a fun surprise! The card actually said Merry Xmas, but I don't know if you were being funny or if the post was just incredibly late.
Thank you Eddy & Syahir for the birthday cards ^___^
Thank you for the CD, Brandenburg person! How retro :P
I really don't deserve any of this attention, but I appreciate it so much. I'm so lucky! Some of you guys have got to learn how to sign when you send stuff though. I want to know who to thank :)
For example, that there in the photo is the first season of Baywatch. It just arrived in the mail one day last year, and I never found out who it was from or why they would want send me that :P
|
- so i guess i'm a little bit behind eh? (3/16/10) [View | Hide]

Sorry :P
I kept meaning to update about this and that, but then I never did. I have more to post the next days though.
For just now have a look at these shots I took at the Galliano show last week. No backstage this time, but still cool. Perle chan loves the glitter ^____^

|
- so i'm 26 today ^^ (3/1/10) [View | Hide]
- so i think spring is coming (2/27/10) [View | Hide]

I woke up this morning from the sun warming my body. Best, best feeling! ^__^
|
- so i'm still exercising (2/25/10) [View | Hide]

I think this must be my most successful attempt at trying to get in shape. I've been good at setting and following routines, and i can slowly feel that I'm up for more and more. Woo! I can't really pinpoint anything particular about my body that has changed, but I just feel better about it in general.
2010, year of the tiger! Roar :)
|
- so i'm sorry for neglecting my journal all week (2/24/10) [View | Hide]

I haven't even been all that busy. Been playing a lot of games on my iphone :P (feel free to recommend me good ones!)
We're really starting to get into the swing of the bread baking thing now. I don't know if I wrote about it before, but Sam got this bread baking machine from Lolo for Christmas. I was opposed to the idea, because from experience I was really sure it would just take up a lot of space in our little kitchen and never get used :P It did take him a little more than a month to actually install it, and a couple more weeks after that again to try the baking, but now we've been baking a few! Sam is really into all the possibilities of recipes and things to add in the bread, but I'm mostly just happy to have proper home made bread that I can eat. It doesn't stay good for as long as the pre sliced ones we get from the supermarket, but it's so tasty. Really good! And a lot better for the body as well.
So far, so good! Now all we need is a bread knife :P
|
- so here's rohman and the blue guy (2/18/10) [View | Hide]

He finished his internship and he is back in Le Havre now, but I'm pretty sure we'll see him soon enough again. Sam & Lolo are driving out there tomorrow to help him paint some walls...or something...
Anyway... March 1st is my birthday!
The monday after this next one I'll be 26. Oh...strange...
Getting older is strange!

|
- so it's february 14th (2/14/10) [View | Hide]

Happy Valentine's Day everyone ❤
I was considering writing down some thoughts on why I have been single for so long (i think it has been 6 years now!), but I figured I'd rather stay a little bit mysterious on that. In the end this love stuff is more or less complicated for all of us.
Then I thought maybe I'll write about what I like in a boy, but that I will save for another day. Need to be in a certain mood for it! :)
Anyway, it's a beautiful day today. I woke up happy, and I've been in a good mood since. Sun in the sky! New episode of One Piece! And we are doing a party tonight for Valentine's Day as well. Sam invited everybody and their grandmother, so if you are in the area feel free to stop by :P
Oh and Happy Chinese New Year too! \o/
