  It's amazing how we've come so far as a nation and at the same time gotten absolutely nowhere. When our forefathers started this country they said that they were creating this country on three basic concepts. These three concepts are seemingly the most basic things that should be garunteed just by the sheer fact that you are ALIVE! Unfortunately today, many countries don't have these principles. The three principles that make up the basis for America are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. How can we be true to these principles if we can't afford it's people the "life" that comes from being able to have the "liberty" to "pursue happiness" as we see fit! Those who are immigrating to this country only seek what America promises. If we can't hold on to our principles, what's left for us to hold on to? There is no future in America if America is determined to shut everyone out. All I have to say to Mr. Politician over there in the Washington is...Do you personally know anyone who would do the work that some of the Mexican American work force does? Face it, we as Americans are pretty damn lazy. I for one am one of them...You wouldn't catch me dead working at a fast food joint let alone some hard physical manual labor. That goes for most of my friends as well. We should just make immigration legal so that civilized life can go and be civilized because in actuality, the immigrants whether they are illegal or not are doing me and my friends a HUGE favor!

But the one thing you could never know, Is how much I am completely enfatuated,completely in love, completely complete I am with you __________________________________________________ Do you find it amazing or repugnant; this idea of Love? Is it something to aspire to and/or ascertain? Or can one get by without it? I pose these questions because I am wondering myself if I have the capacity to love someone. There is someone in my life right now who loves me. I know he loves me and the idea of him loving me isn't what bothers me. It's the realization that I don't necessarily love him back. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm willing to bet it has. If this has happened to you, how do you feel about the situation? Shouldn't there be a commandment or something? "Thou shalt not love me unless I love you"! I think that works. It would save a lot of heartache and headache.

• Somebody's...Somebody? (9/27/08) [View | Hide]

  Why is it that some people are meant to be loved, and others are meant only to love?  How can someone be one person's everything, yet have no love whatsoever for the one who is loving them?  It's always been assumed that there is a universal connectivity between lovers.  That as long as "A" equals "B", then "B" must equal "A".  Apparently, assumption wrong.  See, one can love another, and another doesn't necessarily have to love them back.  Even if you have all the chemestry in the world, even if you both know that you would be happy as clams together, it doesn't have to work out.  Its a sad truth that we have to learn.  I have a friend, Paul*, who is talking to this boy, Michael. Paul is either deeply enfatuated or in love with Michael, yet Michael has a boy that he's in love with.  Michael may not necessarily be happy in that situation, but he's staying with the boy anyways.  Paul and Michael both know that they'd be each other "ever after", but Michael shows no signs of letting go of his current man.  Is it because Michael is scared of the love that Paul and him have now? Possibly.  But one tends more to believe that it is because Michael just isn't as intruiged by Paul as Paul is of Michael.  Paul is obviously a little on the devasted side.  However, Paul isn't necessarily new to this situation either.  It is a depressing thought though.  That twice you have been skipped over by the chance at love.  Does it mean that someday farther down the proverbial "road of life" that there is a perfect mate for the lovers?  Maybe, but who knows.  It could be their destiny to die alone.  What could make it even more frustrating is when the lover knows that his loving is good.  And he/she would love the loved one most assuredly more than anyone that person has in their life right now.  However, could it be the lovers fault?  In alot of the situations, the lover is characterized as the person who loves the fight for a man/woman.  That type of person, is going after the ones he/she can't have because they like the challenge.  Hence throwing themselves into a situation in which they can get their hearts broken.  In the end, who knows if Paul will ever find love and if it will ever find him.  The only thing he can do is be his loverly self and hope one day he'll find a love that will treat him, they way he treats his. *names have been changed to preserve the innocent

  Can living in a town really change you as a person? Or is it just strictly the matter of people that you meet changing you for either the better, for the worse, or just change in general. It is the general consensus that different towns, regions, countries have citizens that act in different manners. But what makes everyone in that town, region, or country act so differently? And if you move from one place to another, can that new place strip you of all old habits and give you new ones? IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP YOURSELF FROM CHANGE?
